After much prayer & consideration, as well as consultation with many people I trust and respect, I feel strongly that it is the right time for me to declare my candidacy for the Legislative Seat being vacated by Tom Trail in District 5, Seat A. I do not enter this race with an agenda, I enter to serve the constituents of Latah and Benewah Counties. While these counties may appear to be very different from each other on the surface, they are both rooted in the deep tradition of making their living from Natural Resources. I will be an advocate to protect those resources for all constituents and I will strive to be a sentry that will not allow government to make it any more difficult to continue the great heritages of logging, farming and the enjoyment of the great outdoors.
I will work hard to keep the University of Idaho the strong partner she is now as well as the largest employer in Latah County. I wish to reiterate for those who do not know me, I am a strong Conservative. I have a long history of working for conservative issues. I had the great opportunity to work as a State Assistant to Senators Dirk Kempthorne and Mike Crapo in both Benewah and Latah counties. I have served as the director of an Idaho State agency under Gov. Dirk Kempthorne, and was appointed to a state commission and served as it’s chair under Gov. Phil Batt. I have long been involved in my community in many organizations; the Moscow Chamber of Commerce, Latah County Wildlife Association, Clearwater Flycasters, Latah County Planning Commission, Latah County Zoning Commission as well as the Latah County Board of Realtors. I am currently the Chair of the Stepping Stones Foundation and serve on the Gritman Medical Center Foundation Hospice Committee.
I have been married to Paul Agidius for 30 years, I have a daughter, a son, 2 stepsons, 5.5 grandsons and am a member of the Nazarene Church. I am a passionate quilter, Hospice supporter and Vandals Fan! My website will be up sometime next week with my statements on a wide variety of issues. I welcome your input. At this time I would like to say a big thanks to my awesome team: Chair, JoAnn Mack, Co-Treasurers, Brett Bennett & Greg Mann, Activities Coordinator, Shirley Greene, and Technology Director, Erin Agidius. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
